What is the crop you want to supplant?  Be cautious.  If it will overwhelm
the dominant crop, it could become a noxious weed if not well-controlled
(kochia in the NW, kudzu in California, purple loosestrife, etc, etc.). What
about native grasses?  They've already adapted to the terrain.

What does extension service say?  What do non-farm oriented agronomists say?
