I
know many of my horses will actually sleep in the trailer. Have hauled with
all kinds of trailers over the years, from old-fashioned two-horse bumper
pulls to big open goosenecks, and (rather like riding the ride) one also has
to drive according to what sort of rig and load one has. I know most of my
horses come bouncing out of the trailer when we get home, bright and alert
and
 eager to greet their buddies.

I normally would never question Heidi, but on this one case, here
goes....Heidi, have you ever ridden in a horse trailer? It's not terrible,
but it is tough to balance. Try it sometime with your eyes focused in the
front, so you can't anticipate turns or stops. It's not scary for horses that
are used to it, my guys don't have any problems, but it is tiring. It takes
alot of effort to stay balanced. I'm sure you have traveled behind a load of
horses and seen how tight their rumps are as they keep their balance. I don't
disagree with you about the ride being stressful mentally, but even a quiet,
calm horse has some amount of physical stress from a trailer ride.
