Wilderness Act?
Hi everyone,
I really need some help. In 1992-1996 a group of people were putting on
an endurance ride called the Long X. It took place at the Theodore
National Park in the Badlands in NDak. Teresa Van Hove and I were
planning on getting the ride going again for 1999.
The park has a new head ranger, (I believe that is his title) and he was
telling me that they changed the Wilderness Act within the last two
years and now no competitive events can be held within the wilderness
part of any National Park, which pretty much covers the whole park. Has
anyone else that holds rides in National Wilderness Areas run into any
thing like this? Or are rides not normally held in National Parks?
Help, I am lost here.
