This happens to most horses at one time or another; it's legendary.  Do not
worry.  The trick is to learn what is "tiredness" (mental) and what is REAL
fatigue (physical incapability of continuing).  It's hard to determine some
times, but it does become easier with experience.  I've been at this sport
since 1971, and I still have to watch carefully to determine the difference.
