Re: BSF Results?
I don't have results either but I was one of the other pulls
- slight bruise to the heel that made me go ahead and pull
so we wouldn't have a long layup for real bruise. Had a
brain cramp I guess that made me opt not to e-boot which was
really dumb given that I know Tony is not good on rocks and
boy were there rocks. But, I had ridden the first few miles
of the trail Friday and it was deceptively sandy and
non-rocky and I made a bad decision based on that.
Note to self: no matter what the first few miles look like,
if you drive thru a gorge with 13% grades to get to a ride
there are probably gonna be rocks on the trail. By golly,
Tony's gonna have eboots permanently installed from now on
:-))
Of course rocky is a relative term - I heard several folks
saying they had never seen so many rocks and would
definitely pad next year and others who thought this was not
very rocky at all - go figure :))
I did notice lots of horses had to trot twice at the
completion - lots of them were footsore - be very
interesting to see if they could do a multi-day on those
rocks with no protection.
The facility at BSF is incredible - *very* horse friendly -
over 200 miles of designated horse trails, 2 or 3 camping
areas for folks with horses plus full blown stables and
cabins. Really a top notch place. I highly recommend making
this ride if it's at all feasible for you as you will not be
disappointed.
The 10 miles I saw were gorgeous - I can't wait to see the
rest of the trail next year <g>.
