Lauren- Generally, horses need to have "started" at a race track prior to their 6 or 7th year.   This varies from state to state and from track to track.  In CA, you can contact Dianna at ARAC (Arabian Racing Assn. of Cal.) at (714)236-4570 to inquire.        kathleen
