Conditioning young TB

Having experience conditioning an off the track TB
and having limited time to ride, Long on one day on
the weekend and short once or twice during the week
is sufficient. Also, with a 3yo you don't need to
be over riding right now. Give the legs 2 years of
LSD to strengthen for the different demand... of
course that applies to any horse. You want to give
your horse's joints time to rebound too. No need
to pound miles into a 3yo. Walking is OK. Enjoy the
scenary. His muscle structure and recoveries will over
run his tendons, joints, and bone. Which in turn makes
an injury more likely. Dressage work to teach him to
come up off his forehand... ie: lighten up! :)

If you have any other questions, feel free to write
direct.
