Stallions

Angie, Some places have you ribbon a stallions tail for identification--some places blue, others yellow. Doesn't keep people away any better than red ribbons for the "K" word. You just have to ride your horse & everyone elses too. Ask them nicely not to crowd & try your best to stay away. Usually people just aren't thinking. Most think a Stallion is just another horse unless there is a mare in heat. Racer is actually worse around aggressive geldings than mares~he's been trained as to what is acceptable behavior, but they all have their limits when threatened. The hardest thing is to keep from being crowded while you're trying to P&R. Our stallion is very vocal & I can't believe how many people will literally run into him like they don't know he's there!
