There's a product out at Wal-Mart called Ivy Block that you put on
exposed skin before doing anything where you might get poison oak, etc,
on you.  I react very badly to all those nasties and this stuff has
worked well for me.  A smallish bottle is about $7, but beats $20 in
calamine lotion and hydrocortisone.
