A training ride is when you and your horse do some long fast miles with
or without friends along. Basically it's just a term meaning the riding
your going to be doing is strickly for endurance conditioning. Some
folks take off for the hills, some for the sand. Here where I live, a
couple of friends and I try to get together once a week and ride at
least 20 miles. Thus a training ride.

A training ride can also be considered as compeletion on a 50 plus or a
limited distance ride. Just riding the ride steady as fit for your horse
to finish with lots of energy left over.
Hope this helps,
