Me too.  As I said in another post, I live in Los Angeles where it seems
EVERYONE owns a handgun (we own three but only because David is military
police---when he's not on duty, the guns are unloaded and in a gun
safe).  Far from making everyone safer, it's made L.A. a very dangerous
place and alot of the reason why we're looking to move.  In the
meantime, I still think the best way to protect yourself isn't to own a
gun, it's to NOT BE where you're likely to get into trouble (which
applies to humans, but I can understand having a gun in a rancher's
truck or whatever---there, it's a tool, not a weapon in the hands of
stupid people, big difference).
