On the Vinegar thing

Dear All,

On the vinegar discussion: I bought & read a little booklet a year or
so ago about the wonderful properties of cider vinegar for arthritis,
high blood pressure, digestion, and on and on. I starting trying this
bit with a teaspoon (or was it tablespoon?) in an 8 oz glass of water
with meals, as recommended. This ultimately led to mixing it in my
water bottles that I carry everywhere...then I started experimenting
with adding a sweetner...a sugar substitute and then adding another
sugar substitute that a wellness practitioner told me about called
Stevia...I have found that I am *absolutely hooked* on this concoction!
Hardly ever drink water "straight"..(g)..isn't that funny? But the
really interesting part is that as I conditioned throughout this past
hot,
humid summer here in No. Central Florida, I have only carried this mix
of sweetened cider vinegar water with me...and it has sustained me!!!
This is amazing to me personally, as I lose a *lot* of fluids during
these hot rides...I am drenched with perspiration...not a dry hair on
my head..(this is me)...and have always made sure I had a container of
Shaklee's Endurance drink plus another container (or two) of water w/me
when out for even a short while....well, I hadn't purchased anymore
of Shaklee's Endurance drink as I wasn't competing this past season..
I just went with what I had...this sweetened cider vinegar water mix.
Amazing to me...no problems at all!!! (many times in the past, after
cleaning the horse up, etc, then going inside finally, maybe eating
something and eventually taking a nap, I'd wake up with a headache)..
bear in mind now, that I'd been riding in extremely hot/humid temps &
finishing up chores in same....anyhow, this headache thing occasionally
would crop up *after* a nap...high blood pressure? Maybe..don't know..
(I am on a BP med.) but since using this sweetened cider vinegar water
mix for nearly a year now, I haven't had the slightest sign of a head-
ache after riding in the hot sun. This is quite something, I think.
Also, I have never taken drugs/meds/before, during or after competition
and am virtually pain free all the time...kind of neat...I'm not a
spring chicken, either...know the day will come when some "help" will
be necessary, but until then........BTW, Stevia can be purchased in a
health food store..it's a natural food...a sugar alternative.

P.S. As far as the horses go, espec. my competition horse, TF American
Express, I believe in adding cider vinegar to his food too...but cost
becomes a factor here...he's getting everything else..so I'm having the
organic, unfiltered cider vinegar!
