Tina, Maybe some of these suggestions will help-throw out those that don't
apply.

1. Leave earlier (if possible)
2. If you don't pre-enter (I usually don't), have everything you need handy
when you arrive.
3. Pack as much of your vet check bag as possible before leaving home.
4. Pack your trailer/truck so that you will come to what you need in order of
need
5. When you arrive, don't stop to BS until you have done what is necessary!
6. For me it works to:
a. set up horse pen and get him comfortable
b. do paperwork
c. vet in if vets are there
d. hopefully you tack needs only last minute checking
(You may be cold/hungry/half-dressed, but you are ready to compete)
e. now you can worry about yourself/BS and don't forget the ride meeting

Although this is a little tongue in cheek, it is a general pattern that works
for me.

Good luck
