Other than FEI and Tevis I can't remember a ride that has weigh-ins, although there probably are some. Once many years ago a rider demanded that we weigh a person who claimed to be a HW. We weighed him and he was and that was the end of it. I don't think it is a big problem. Of course we allow someone who weighs 300 lbs to ride as a featherweight which I think is even dumber.

Thanks for the info Diane. I thought maybe I'd just missed something. It is so strange that the region rule would just be applied to the weight rule without any rule for it. I'll just have to put all the possible gear on my new lightweight saddle and go weigh, deduct the 10 pounds I hope to lose (hahahaha) and decide what to do. I agree the way it is currently done is much more difficult for riders who gain weight, and we all know how easy that is to do.
