[RC] post race leg wraps - Sheila_Larsen

People use leg wraps after a race to help prevent swelling/filling and in
my case to hopefully make my horse feel better as well as prevent
swelling/filling. Many people will use ice boots or wraps that have a
cooling substance. I typically just use a clay poultice and remove it the
next day. If you search the archives you will find lots of advice,
opinions and stuff on wrapping. If you decide to wrap with wraps(not
boots) you should have someone knowledgable teach you how to wrap legs
correctly and then practice practice practice wrapping. Remember a good
wrap begins with a wrap that is tightly and evenly wrapped before you put
it on a horse.
