[RC] Riding at elevation - Mike Sherrell

Our horses have spent the last years at less than 200 ft elevation. Now
we're at nearly 5,000 feet for a few months. I myself after a couple weeks
of jogging still have trouble getting enough oxygen when exerting heavily.
Locals have said it takes more than 6 months for a human to acclimitize.

What about horses? How many weeks or months of a regular exercise regimen
should it take for the horse to have the same capacity as it did at a lower
elevation?

Regards,

Mike Sherrell
