Re: [RC] Equestrian culture may be fading into the sunset-California - Michael Lewis

Just a sign of the times.  Trucks, fuel, feed, hay...  Everything's just getting too expensive for many of us to justify having horses as a hobby any longer... or is causing us to significantly decrease attendance at various equestrian events.

Hopefully things will rebound, but I worry about the increasing cost of diesel fuel and registration of big pickups given the misperception that diesel-powered vehicles are smoky and dirty... and the fact that it is fashionable to blame private owners of diesel vehicles for our pollution situation.

If only they'd make a car that can pull a horse trailer... again.  Seemed like this was fashionable in the 70s when I was a kid.

There is  an LA area farm for sale on endurance.net right now.  I wish I had the money to buy it.

Article about areas that include those I rode and hold dear.  Sounds like Los Angeles area riders, especially, need to network now!
