Re: [RC] 75 Mile Ride Informal Survey - Jody Rogers-Buttram

Paul,

Your ride is on my "To do list"....I will bring you one 100 mile entry, and probably a 75 mile one.  Reasons for the 75:

1.  Horse may not be ready for the 100
2.  More points

DISCLAIMER:  I do however have no problem with throwing one straight into the 100, but this particular horse is recovering right now from hoof surgery, so she may be getting a slower start in the sport.

I was wondering how many riders are going to be more motivated to try a 75 mile ride since AERC has upgraded the points awarded for completing a 75?

So: Does the extra amount of points awarded for a 75 make you more motivated to try one?  Or does it not matter?

For those who have entered or are considering entering a 75, what is your main motivation?

A) Intermediate Step from 50's for getting ready to try a 100?

B) Less time riding in the dark?

C) Feel horse/rider are not ready or capable for 100's ?

D) No 100's close to you that you want to ride?

E) Something else.. What?

Just wondering
