Ditto! All fei rides in the US have to be AERC dual sanctioned.

I think this is getting blown way out of proportion.  Being a ride manager I 
see it this way.  They are probably expecting very few riders who need this 
ride for qualifying.  It was probably not their idea in the first place. The 
ride managment was probably approached by these few riders and a fee was agreed 
upon.  I say probably because I have no idea but it seems logical.  There are 
many other rides at that time in this region so why shouldn't they be able to 
cater to a certain group.  A small group is much easier to deal with but you 
still have to pay the bills.  They may only have 10 riders.  I would think the 
reason they are sanctioning it with the AERC is so that the riders who are AERC 
members get their points and mileages.  I'm sure it also counts towards the 100 
mi program that just started.
