Has anyone else read the results of the research summit?  Some very  
good stuff in here:

One suggestion, if any committee members are reading:

For Concern #5:  The plan is to telephone riders of 100's post-ride.   
What about sending the  riders a form or list of things that are of  
interest in their ride packet.  Those riders who are interested in  
participating would then be able to note down that information prior  
to the phone call, rather than try to remember on the fly and after  
the fact, and they would have a place to write down the info.

As to the rest of the list - I really liked this.  For those of you  
who haven't read it yet:
Concern #1:  gives the reasoning behind the 30 minute pulse-down  
proposal.  Basically, 60 minutes is just too lenient, and serious  
problems resulting in fatalities are being missed.

Concern #2: proposes a research effort for attempting to find reasons  
for ileus, which was the major cause of fatalities.

Concern #3:  Really good idea of a rider-supplied emergency fund for  
helping to subsidize the cost of emergency surgery.  (yes - more fees,  
but I am all for this one.)

Concern #4:  Improved Rider cards.  Yes!

Concern #5:  Followup on pulls and treatments.
