[RC] girth rubs - Lynn White

I have a similar problem with elbow galls if I don't use a crupper and I let
the girth get too loose. I know people say that if your crupper and breast
plate are adjusted right you don't need to have a tight girth. One thing they
forget to mention is that you can only get away with this IF your saddle fits
the horse perfectly AND there are no steep hills.

I use those Wintec waffle girths. Love em. I've tried other types of material
like mohair and fleece but I always go back to the Wintecs. They are a good
quality, and clean up with soap and water. They run about $30-$40 and if they
don't work out you can sell them as there is always a market for them. I also
goop some Destitin under the elbows and keep the girth tight...two fingers
tight. Nothing like Pre-lubing the area.

Always check at holds for galls too.
