Re: [RC] award???? - Barbara McCraryA paper certificate has always been considered acceptable as meeting the criteria for "an award." However, it appears that many do not place any value on it. We have offered certificates as a way for riders to save $25 on their entry fee, which many like to do. I am able to create all our certificates on my computer and I think they look quite handsome, made on colored parchment paper with the ride logo on it. IF we ever put on another ride, and IF people scorn a paper certificate, then I'd come up with something else. The suggestion for a roll of Vet Wrap was brilliant. I can think of several other small, inexpensive items that would pass for the reduced entry fee.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sisu West Ranch" <ranch@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, October 02, 2009 9:33 AM Subject: Re: [RC] award???? When I read the section of the rules that requires a "award" I don't see anything that requires the award to be a specific thing or to have an intrinsic value. A piece of paper with "Completion Award" written on it in crayon by the RM's 6 yr old child would qualify.* =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
