[RC] Helmet Search - Roger Rittenhouse

I came off the other day - my error getting on while the horse was stepping off,
training needed?

I hit the old helmet on a rock pile, This was the second hit for this helmet.
Time for a new one. I really do not care for the stock style that are on the
market today. The trashed on was one of those shaped tear drop style sort of
like
a bicycle helmet.

I just dont care for the plain style. So are there any available that look like
a
bike helmet that are horse use approved.?

Why are the bike helmets NOT safe for us? I saw all the crashes in the Tour de
France, no heads were bashed at great speeds and hard roads. The upper end of
these have to be safe for a fall from a horse? Why not? Is it just the code
testing that makes the horse helmet 'safer' or is it the internal design.
I looked at - hands on- a few high dollar bike helmets with lots of code safety
stickers inside.

So WHY should I buy a horse rated helmet?

( NOTE - not starting the helmet wars just asking for opinions on the styles)
