[RC] Cabo the Paso Fino is two for two at Tevis - Melissa MargettsCabo that little buckskin Paso Fino is 2 for 2 at Tevis. First and only Paso Fino to have ever completed the Tevis in 54 years. Gotta love a "downhill horse" on a "downhill ride". Conditions and temps were perfect. Cabo and I finished in 38th with all A's. With that smooth four beat gait he had to have done 200 miles for the 100 everyone else did. My toes are black and blue and the nails are starting to fall off from running down the canyons but it was worth it to get my butt off of his back and save more horse. He did cougar rock and got the "land speed record"again this year. Heartbreaking to have Ice fall of the trail just in front of us on the swithbacks. We had been leapfrogging with them all the way from Red Star. What a beautiful mare. Soo sad. Cabo liked following along together with those three horses. A HUGE thanks to Jeanie Pinto and Ellison for crewing. The hot solar shower at Forest hills was amazing. Did anyone get a pic of our "Big Girl Panties" camp flag at Robie that they can send to me at haulnoats@xxxxxxxxxxxx?, or any good shots of Cabo? We didn't bring a camera. Time to go walk that pony and tell him all about his new saddle, years supply of carrots and equine massage award.Walking like John Wayne but still smiling.
