[RC] fei log book - Sandy Terp

I have not done an fei ride for a few years but if you are referring to an fei passport, that is presented at the pre inspection in to identify the horse and then kept by management until the end of the ride.  After you have passed the post ride check or have been released by the treatment vet if you did not complete you get it back.  Crews do not carry it from check to check and it is used to record the rides the horse has entered and whether they completed them not individual check information.  Many of the rides in my area have taken a page from fei and when you arrive at a check you are given a piece of paper with  your arrival time.  This is presented to the pulse taker so you don't have to get your ride card out until  you get to the control judge.  The scribe then records the information from the paper onto your card you give the paper with your out time to the out timer so your ride card is only exposed to the elements for a short period of time.
