Just a note from a SE region rider on the DUCK rides. My wife and her friend have done 4 of these rides and I finally got to do one this year. The DUCK stresses that his rides are endurance rides, not races and he is out on the trail monitoring horses several times. He is known for keeping a critical eye out on riders he is not familiar with and personally knows most of his riders. I was very impressed with his handling of the Fort Schelbourne ride and I think the low number of horses that need treatment at his rides is a testament of the success of his philosophy.
