[RC] Northern CA Endurance Clinic/Guided Ride 6/20 - Beverley H. Kane, MD

There are still spaces available for this Saturday. Camping Friday is an
option. Speakers include Julie Suhr, MaryBen Stover, and a junior rider,
Ildi Nadasdy.
The Santa Cruz Horsemen's Assoc. is sponsoring an? Educational Seminar and
Simulated Endurance Ride on June 21, a Saturday at the Graham Hill Show
Grounds in Santa Cruz. Because Quicksilver member Pat Verheul is in charge,
you can be sure it will be a well run program.

It starts with a couple of speakers. Then you go through a pre-ride vet
check explaining to you the purpose of each exam that the vet does.
Following that you go for a trail ride in small groups with a leader who
educates you out on the trail as you ride through the gorgeous redwoods of
Cowell State Park.? You can choose the group you want to go with according
to how far you want to ride as the groups go varying distances--usually 6 to
10 miles. You come back to camp, go through a post ride vet check and then
on to a great lunch and a post ride presentation on how to care for your
horse in camp.?? You have had a great day!

While this is basically an introduction to endurance riding, experienced
endurers will find it ideal for getting their inexperienced horse? into a
group environment without the? awful nervous disorders you would suffer at
a? real endurance ride.?

It is limited to 25 people and costs $35 (including a great lunch).? Graham
Hill has horse corrals for rent so you can spend the whole weekend if you
want.? Ride the trails by yourself or with friends Friday evening,? Attend
the horse clinic on Saturday, go to the wharf for dinner, stay overnight and
go out again on Sunday.? Nirvana.? Pat's number is 831-335-5933.
