Have spoken with Gatesy and the doctors advise that Meg is no longer in a coma but she has not yet regained consciousness. The trachea tube has been removed and Meg is now breathing on her own (tube had been inserted to ensure a good flow of oxygen was being received by the brain). There are slight responses to stimuli and Meg is now achieving some eye tracking. Meg is also showing signs of wanting to eat. Doctors are happy with progress and are trying to move Meg to rehab as she no longer needs to be in an acute care ward.
So, she isn't quite sitting up and chatting to us but it seems like she is getting closer to surfacing. Any progress, no matter how small, is good but it is still a very long road to recovery.
