[RC] OTC Cough remedy for possible allergy cough - sherman

Title: Message
My horse has developed a cough over the last few days, no fever, no drainage, no other symptoms at all, good HR, good appetite and normal spunky attitude. He's in pasture 24/7 with an open stall available when he wants it, so no dust problem,  but holy cow, have the pollens been bad lately! Then we had 5" of rain followed by very warm weather. I think billions of mold spores have popped open
too. Before jumping to the vet (I treat my horses like I would myself, wait a few days, try an OTC before running to the doc) I want to try an OTC cough and if it doesn't fix it, then he'll get the full treatment.

Has anyone had any luck with OTC cough medicines for allergies?
