Re: [RC] triple crown/yucca - Elizabeth Walker

Is there enough yucca in the triple crown to test?

I don't know -- one person said the rep stated that it "wouldn't test".  However, with drug tests becoming more sensitive all the time, that is kind of a shaky limb to stand on.  Besides - if the rules say "no amount", then you are still breaking the rules if the amount you feed is greater than zero, regardless of whether it tests or not.

Has anyone checked with the feed company to find out the amount that is contained in the feed and how it would affect a test?

I've send an email, which was forwarded to their nutrition expert.  I haven't heard back yet.

I ask b/c if it’s a really low amount so as not to even show up in the “noise” of a blood test is there a reason to worry?

See first answer.

Do all low starch feeds have yucca? Or is it just triple crown?

As far as I know - it is just triple crown, and it is all their feeds, as it is in the vitamin / mineral supplement they get from Alltech.

Has anyone had any actual trouble with their horses testing positive for yucca? Or is this a proactive move to prevent that from happening?

This is a standard Ridecamp deal -- it came up during the course of a different discussion.
