Re: [RC] saddle pads using bamboo fabric - Quentin & Libby Llop

Bamboo in fabric is just a rayon using bamboo to provide the cellulose and considering the processing can't possibly be very organic in the no chemicals used in production sense.

My mom has a bamboo T-shirt that she LOVES. Darn thing feels like silk. She likes it so much she hand washes it and refuses to put it in the dryer...and for a t-shirt nevertheless. She got it from "Clothing Matters" Here is their website: http://www.clothingmatters.net/index.html

They also have a line of hemp and other organic blends.

Since I get just about all my T-shirts as ride prizes I don't buy t-shirts (thank you Steph!). But if I did buy new shirts I'd definatley buy one of these Bamboo ones.

Now as for saddle pads, the only issue I see with this fabric is that it would slip. Bamboo is not a barbed fiber like wool. So I'll stick with wool for saddle pads unless someone can come up with a wool/bamboo blend!
