Re: [RC] Garmin Parts and the wrist band - rides2far@xxxxxxxx

Great idea! I have honestly held off about buying one for that reason. Now...to
convince Bill I need it even though he bought me this big ol' hand held Garmin
Legend (which I know he bought because it is waterproof and he wanted it for
his Kayak! :-)

Long as we're at it. Any advice for places to download tracks other than
Motionbased?

Angie MG--asked about the pins coming out on the G301 and G305
The G301 has a band that goes around the wrist with the unit on top - held in
place by the pins to the band.

I have done this as well as added this to my user docs.

Place a good amount of shoe goo under the watch case and the band that is GLUE
the watch to the band. Works great. I had one come off - only one side, then
after I put the pins back in place I decided to do the glue on - No more
problems.
The G305 well you are out of luck here. I was going to look for a sports type
band that the G305 could be attached to - could not find any that were wide
enough. For you G305 riders, just keep looking around for a Velcro on sport
type
watch band that goes around your wrist and the unit will attach to the band with
the pins, then just glue it on to the band as I do with the 301.

Since I sold the G305 and only the G301 it is not an issue for me.

Spare Parts
Yes look to ebay. May not be able to find just the watch, but you may get a
good deal on complete used system then yo will have a spare transmitter.
Would not be cost effective to just buy a new watch unit from Garmin.
