[RC] Electric netting? - Quentin & Libby Llop - sherman

Title: Message
As an owner of a horse that will stay behind a piece of twine at home, but will blast thru electric wire at a ride, it looks to me like a like a recipe for disaster (:<( I'd say, if you have to use an electric pen, use twine or tape, but having seen horses get tangled in that too (not the horse that was behind it, but a passing loose horse) I prefer tying my horse.

I use and have used this for 30 years for my sheep. Occasionally I have horses in it too, but I try not to. If a hoof went through the horse would continue to be shocked as it pulled up the whole fence, complete with 4" metal stakes. This kind of wire (plastic with small metal filaments) cuts like a surgical saw. I have lost lambs in this fence. They get a leg or neck through and become twisted and tangled in it very easily. It is important to keep it taut and highly electrified at all times. If I was pasturing a horse with it I would not want to make an area smaller that 4 rolls. 165' x 165' Libby
