[RC] Spare Garmin Parts - rides2far

Did you lose the watch because of pins in the wristband coming loose? I
know two people who have. I wore a wrist model GPS that belonged to a
friend last week. I was already paranoid about the pins coming loose, but
then had trouble with the wrist band itself trying to come unbuckled. the
loop that keeps the left over segment flat would work its way down the
wristband and then come loose. The weight of the GPS also made it turn on
my wrist and tugging on it to see it was putting stress on the pins. Has
anyone ever tried to make an alternative way to put the thing on your
arm? My first choice would be for them to make a model with no removable
pins, just rigid bars that you could put a nylon & velcro band on. Since
that's apparently not going to happen, I was trying to imagine a wide
cloth wristband with a plastic window to see the GPS through but that
would be hard to read. Then I imagined a cut out area just big enough for
the window and velcro closures for the band.... ideas anybody? The wrist
model worked well in areas where my hand held couldn't find satallites
and I did like that.

Is it possible to buy just the parts of the Garmin 305. I lost my
watch, but still have the HRM tranmitter, power adapter, etc. Does
anybody know if it is possible to buy just the replacement watch?
