[RC] Question(s) for the Shoers (already heard from the barefoot people =) - sherman

Title: Message
I do it all, barefoot, shod, and/or boots, whatever works best for the horse, trails, and rider. My daughter's horse was kept shod during ride season.  I'd just like to add that sometimes thrush is sort of hidden and the smell is not detectable. So don't think if you can't see or smell it that it isn't there. Treat agressively for it anyway.  And if your horse needs shoes to be ridden comfortably, feel good about doing something to help your horse. Maybe keep the horse unshod for as many months as possible during the off season to allow the hoof to function naturally for a while. Personally, I choose to boot, but I admit it is sometimes a big nuisance.
