[RC] Kooter - Lucy Chaplin Trumbull

Suzanne Hayes:
I wanted to let you all know that my friend and one of the greatest endurance
horses ever passed away this morning. Kooter (Kootenai Zizzero, AERC #5081)...

Aw, Suzanne. I'm so sorry. Kooter will be missed by many.

I had the honour of helping Suzanne at Michigan Bluff during Tevis
about ten years ago and always remember Kooter. Suzanne was
worried that he was having a low and wanted him to eat, so I stood
there holding a pan of mush under his nose, following his mouth to
keep him eating it. Suzanne left the check hand-walking Kooter with
a flake of hay tucked under her arm.

Steph:
just added a photo of Kooter to Suzie's message: http:// www.endurance.net/channels/2008/02/kooter.html

Suzie - wasn't he a big horse - close to 16hh? and part Morgan?

Kooter was *huge*! But perfectly proportioned, so you didn't realise
how big he was until you got up close and he loomed larger and
larger.

It was as though he was 9/8th's scale (which is the opposite of my
Roo, who is 7/8th's scale <g>).
