[RC] [RC] Permanent trail marker materials - Buzzard's Roost

Angie,

I really like the way the Pinhoti marks its trail with these plastic turkey tracks: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinhoti_National_Recreation_Trail
They also use pale blue rectangular paint marks since it's joined up with the Appalachian trail.

Pigeon Mtn could make cool trail markers with a picture of a passenger pigeon.
Here are some pictures you can use if you want to get right on that!

Whatever they use, they need to attach them to trees!  Fort Mountain uses post signs hammered into the ground and they're always uprooted lying flat on the ground.  It's really entertaining to find yourself in the middle of nowhere at a 5-point intersection having to dismount and pick up a sign post with arrows all over it front and back, turning it this way and that trying to figure out which way it might have been pointing when they put it up.  Neil blames the bears, says the bears use his posts to scratch their itchy spots.
