Re: [RC] AERC and FEI - Truman PrevattWith the cozy AERC FEI arrangement of AERC allowing cosanctioning of its rides many of the fixed cost of a ride are paid for by a much larger set of riders than if the FEI ride had to pick up all the fixed cost. While one cannot say that subsidize the FEI ride - they do make it less expensive for the FEI ride to run. Since the ride manager is the one responsible for setting the cost no one will know if there is an implicit subsidy or not. But the bottom line is the ride fees for a FEI 100 mile ride in the US with 20 entries would be a lot more expensive than one that is run at an AERC ride with 100 riders in the AERC ride.In that respect the AERC is supporting the FEI/USEF. Personally I'm so fed up with the entire FEI travesty. IMO it's time for the AERC to pull the plug and step aside and allow the USEF to run their own rides if FEI rides are desired in the US.
