[RC] Deluxe Stowaway pommel - Tx TriggerDoes anyone know the secret of attaching the pommel bag so it does not bounce. I ride in a Specialized trailmaster and cannot figure out how to strap it down.. Any suggestions, pictures or help would be appreciated.>>> Take the top velcro straps, and run them through the top D rings on your saddle, then run through those little D rings that are attached to the velcro straps next to pack, tighten, then attach the velcro. If you do it tight enough, it will sort of "lift" the pack up off the horses withers, and suspend it from the saddle. I do this with the Bighorn, and my Specialized. Linda, here are some photos on other attachments. http://pets.webshots.com/photo/1531467103049327220HaIsBW This was on the Bighorn. The long strap, I have go across the front, into buckle, and then trim off the huge excess. I tie a knot in the end of the strap, so it does not slip out of the buckle. The very front D ring, I put a little bit snap on it, and then snap it to a string I have around my breastcollar. This takes out the bounce. Have ridden with it like this for about 5 years, and it works well. http://pets.webshots.com/photo/1531467108049327220dMVmID To attach TO the saddle, I had put some string around the rigging, that I tied it off to, or used a little snap. You may have to consider having another D ring added to your new saddle low enough to attach it, to eliminate bounce. http://www.pbase.com/photobyjonni/image/92574676 With my Specialized International, I put some velcro on the small D rings, and sandwich it between the knee rolls and velcro on the flap to keep it snug to the saddle, and not floppy. Maybe this will give you some ideas to keep the bags secure, and not bouncing and floppy for your set up. I HATE bags that bounce, so I fuss with them until they don't.
