Re: [RC] [Endurance Riding: News] Spain: CEI*** Santa Susana - Wolfgang Schwingenheuer

"... because it has a gap of more than 500 m..."

Does anyone know what this means??

Ed & Wendy Hauser

Hi all,

here is a quote from the schedule of that ride:
"Altitude difference 510 m (0 to 510)"

So from my understanding this is not the total the riders will move up- and/or
downhill, but simply the gap between the lowest and the highest point of the
trail. So the total elevation gain will be a lot more than this 510 meter.
The ride will be near the location of the 1992 WEC, it's located at the
Pyrenees and there is virtually no real flat part. It's not a fast ride as the
winner this year finished it in 16 km/h (10 miles/hour).
I can ask a friend about whether she knows the real elevation gain.

Happy trails,

Wolfgang
