[RC] winter - Lynn White

I am sitting here with a pouting lower lip as the snow
keeps on coming. Here in Idaho we have had a winter
that has put riding to a grinding halt. So I decided
to think about all the GOOD related to the endurance
of a nasty winter. Feel free to make additions to the
list.

Things an endurance rider should like about cold snowy
winters:

Horses don?t get Thrush if there is no mud and all the
manure gets frozen as hard as golf balls.

Most the nasty bugs (like ticks) are killed off.

The spring time wildflowers are lovelier.

There is more grass for the horses to eat on endurance
rides

One gets to read more, watch old movies, sort through
old pictures, etc.

One gets to catch up on letters to old friends

Mini-blinds get dusted
