Re: [RC] BIting Horse at Ride - Rebecca Fabiszak

As John Lyons says, you have 3 seconds to KILL a horse that bites you, short of having a gun, one can't actually kill a horse in three seconds but the horse needs to believe that you could. Biting is the most aggressive behavior a horse will exhibit, from what I have been told. Have fun and be safe. Off to clean. Beccy in very snowy Utah, which I prayed for, the snow that is.

"...What is acceptable "horse space" is generally bigger than people space.
A smart horseman knows this..."

It is up to humans to teach each and every horse from birth exactly what
acceptable behavior is.  Each and every horse, without exception, from the
moment of birth, must be taught (Yes, I do mean taught, natural instincts
has nothing to do with this.), that aggression towards humans is not
allowed.  This must be reinforced by the horse experiencing a near death
(from his/her point of view.) experience each and every time, without
exception, it acts aggressively towards humans.  John Lyons has good
descriptions of how to do this.

While I admit that, if not affected by DIMR, I would have probably have
given the horse and its servant, a permanent wide birth, if attacked I also
would have given them a lesson about the unpleasant consequences of
attacking at least some people.
