Re: [RC] AERC Awards - rides2far

It must get cold back east! and as you get older, > > the cold is
more noticable I hear.

I was born cold. I prefer to think I am keeping my body acclimated so I
can handle the really hot summer rides.

So can you find (maybe a llbean or pategonia or kerrits or ?? the
kind of jacket you would like for your 4000 mile one?

That's for the 5000 mile. Honestly, I feel like a fraud. I got a 5000
mile patch a long time ago (earlier this year?) and started saying I had
5000. Then I finally looked at my record and if it's right I *just now*
went over if you count the non-AERC Pan Am (they give Kaboot credit for
it even though they don't put it on his ride record). Oh well, I'm there
now so I want 5000 on the heavy jacket!

just send me a > link 2it so I can start scoping things out. AERC
might not get bent
about you using the AERC Logo (if you want that) on your jacket
you'd > think. Then, if you want, you can have your normal aerc 4000
miles

I just checked the AERC store and they no longer offer the polar fleece
jackets or pull overs with the logo. I have one I bought at the
convention..on close-out now that I think about it, and it's just the
AERC logo stitched on a jacket and I think it says American Endurance
Riding Conference. I guess they didn't sell that many with just that.
I'll bet they'd be popular if you could have them put the mileage awards
on there. The time to have them made would be when the place was already
doing them for the awards. I think they always use that Auburn Printing
company so I'm sure they could run a few more through. If AERC only took
the orders once a year and had them done with the national awards it
seems to me it could be done at an attractive price.

orange that road guys wear??:)

NOO! John, I was raised in Tennessee by parents from Alabama and taught
to be an Alabama fan. I haven't been all that staunch but if you think
I'd wear orange around here with the season that the Vols have
had....when Alabama is undefeated??? That's not happening! My dad's
favorite saying is that Tennessee chose orange so they could wear it to
go hunting on Friday, play football on Saturday and pick up trash by the
free way on Monday. >g<

I'd probably choose a blue but would want to look at the colors....not
all blues are equal. :-)

Seriously though, it's not much fun to wear something that you just
decided to give yourself. If the option of a mileage jacket from AERC was
out there, I think people would be proud to buy them and wear them.

Angie (Roll Tide...2nd choice: Auburn, they put out the best vets)
