[RC] Fur- lined Thongs - Jay Randle

Hi All

So what is wrong with fur-lined thongs?  Everyone knows that thongs are the most comfortable gear to get around in, and adjustments/improvements to their design abound on a regular basis.  Wouldn't you rather have a thong that is warm and cozy than the standard type?   I mean, the standard thong leaves a lot to be desired!  Barely there, not much protection, slippage issues, get sloppy at times, and even break at the most inopportune moments.

The addition of fur to the basic design allows for a great level of comfort and warmth and padding when in use.  Our winter weather is not as extreme as it can be in parts of the USA, and as we are an outdoors fun-loving nation as a whole, the idea of giving up thongs just because the weather turns bad is abhorrent to us.  Thongs are a part of our culture!  You know, get out of bed in the morning, slip on a singlet top, slop on some sunscreen, slap on the thongs, and you're ready to face the day!

So when winter rocks around and the weather turns nasty, it's still quite usual to see persons of both sexes getting around in thongs.  I believe that the fur-lined thongs became more popular once the Ug Boot was adopted by US Celebrities and we couldn't stand to see another great Aussie Icon abused!  Because, of course, thongs are a form of footwear.... but you knew that, didn't you?  What do you call them?  Jandals, flip-flops, Japanese Riding Boots, etc.
