Re: [RC] Saddles for Polish Arabs - heidi larson

My arab is polish/russian (over half polish) he's built like a tank, good topline, well-sprung ribs, wide chest, big bone, and I ride him in a Free & Easy saddle.  He's always gotten A's on his tack/back until our last 100 when I discovered that the short billets caused him to have sore sides from the girth buckles being under our knees, so I've ordered the long billets to change them out.  I also had a gall from his elbow rubbing on the nylon top of his girth, so since we're going to a dressage girth now I'm going to get an all neoprene one.  However, I still LOVE my saddle and once we get this one item figured out, I think we'll be doing good again.  (I am pretty sure you can order these saddles with long billets instead of short.)

For those who ride Polish Arabs -- What kind of saddle have you found works best overall for your horse?  I have found an SR Enduro that is for a flatter backed horse that I'm going to try to see if it works.  His previous owner rode him in a wide tree Tucker but I'd rather find another saddle than the Tucker.

I realize each horse is different but thought I get some ideas.

Thanks,
Val
