[RC] hard headed horses? - Dot Wiggins

While the issue of difficult to tie horses is still going, I have a question.
Has anyone tried the "Tie Blocker" type method on the horses that insist on pulling? Did the horse pull tilll they got clear free? How long is the halter rope you use?
Did the horse get better about standing tied reliably no matter what the situation was?

I've known a number of horses that would pull often if they broke free, but would stand up and quit pulling if nothing broke. I don't remember ever having a horse that was completely reliable to tie once they learned they could break stuff. If they didn't break loose a couple of times they would be good for a while, but you always had to be careful what you tied with and to.

We have one now that is not afraid of anything, very bold, just wants her own way. Curious if the "slide" effect might be useful. My experience says no, but never too late to find a new way to do something.

Any comments?
