[RC] BLM Horse Tours at the AERC Convention - Michael Maul

Posted for Randy Eiland. Please make sure you respond to Randy at the email address in the post.

**************************************

AERC and the BLM Wild Horse & Burro Program are arranging for tours of the Palomino Wild Horse & Burro Facility in Reno during the AERC Convention. Last year we had a kind of informal tour situation set up and those who made it were impressed with the horses, their maintenance and care, and the "break" from the casino. The tours will be guided and will include viewing the many different horses and burros (of all ages); feeding, trimming, care activities: some training methods for the wild stock; and history of the BLM wild horses and burros. Some of us who toured the facility last year were with relatives of members who were not
"horse people" and they were as impressed as we were - it will be a great and entertaining part of the AERC Convention experience, as well as an opportunity to get out in the fresh air among horses :^)

We are putting this notice out for your information and to get an idea of how many members attending Convention would be interested in taking one of the several tours we are arranging. We are working on a schedule of times for both Friday and Saturday (they close at noon on Saturday), getting buses or shuttles for those who don't have their own vehicle (you are welcome to take your own transportation if you wish) and, to that end, it is important to have an idea of how many members would like to spend about an hour and a half doing this.

Please reply to both Randy Eiland at renegade12@xxxxxxxx and Patti Pizzo at Piz220@xxxxxxxx if you wish to participate and be put on the list.

Thanks,

Randy
