[RC] AERC dues deadline/points - Sharon HahnMany organizations do not allow you to count points until you become a member. It may be administratively difficult to go back and grant you points retroactively, but having the deadline also prevents people from waiting to see if they are in the running for an award at the end of the season before deciding whether or not to pay their membership fee.
In response to:"But, the dues are for a full year and are not prorated if you pay late. So I don't understand how it can be legal (or ethical) to withhold someone's points because they paid late.
