Re: [RC] beaten barefoot subject - Barbara Moulton

Check out the KC LaPierre info-equinepodiatry.net
especially the brand new Energetics Perfect Hoofwear
therapy wrap- 3 years and 7 months from being advised
by the local wild horse mentor that I had a chronic
cripple pasture pet ( that she would put down)to a
sound Wondermustang. I took the 5 day course last
year and learned the HPT trim but still wuss out and
have my great local DAEP trim her. Tonight KC himself
who is holding a workshop this week in Boise came out
and met Joy and trimmed her and suggested I work on
stretching and flexing her and of course get some more
miles under her now that I am all recovered from
surgery on my hips. Joy responded quickly to AEP but I
had my own physical issues to deal with and each small
setback was my own fault from not being able to ride
or even handwalk her much- however she did not have
any increase of pain in her transition to barefoot on
the contrary she had pain being shod- it was so
frustrting to have her sore for 5 days to a week after
shoes were put on ( just fronts and all 4 we tried it
both ways with several different well recommended
farriers)then have maybe two good weeks then be footy
again until the reset at 6 weeks and the cycle would
repeat. We are "shoeless but not clueless"
Barbara
