From what I understand King Ali Gold was definitely Val's first choice of her own horses. Yes, he's apparently darned near suicidal to ride, but a vet I was talking to just last week was commenting on what a FREAK he was in how going so fast seemed to absolutely not faze him in the least. How many horses could have accidentally done the first loop twice in an FEI 100 and still won handily? The bridle(s) (looks like more than one at a time) she used on him reminded me of Yosemite Sam and his "Whoa Camel" cartoon. When I say WHOA! I mean WHOA!!! I had hopes he'd run away with her and win the darned thing.
